Question: Where do all the old announcements and links go after they disappear from the front page? Here in the archive - in reverse chronological order.
Please read my Announcement on Canvas for information about the Final Exam - and a poll.
We do not have our regular semester office hours during finals week. Please see our special office hours below.

Here is a preview (version 1) pdf of the Final Exam Cover Page which has a periodic table, bond energies, water data, and some formulas. Everything you need for the exam. And yes, there are blanks for your name and uteid because we WILL be collecting all exams for the final - and bubblesheets, and any scratch paper.
Here are all the learning outcomes for each exam combined into one page. Final Exam Outcomes
You can calculate your grade by all 3 methods by using This Excel Spreadsheet. Just put in YOUR values for Exams 1-4, Final Exam, HW Avg, Reef Avg, and the Extra Credit points (2 if you do it right). All those values (except final and extra credit) are available on Canvas.
Here is the Official Bedbugs Info Page put together by Dr. McCord

UTC 2.102A is closed through Tuesday night due to an infestation - they HAVE to fumigate NOW!
So we are having class today in WCP 1.402 (the big auditorium). WCP was formerly the SAC. So I will see you over in WCP today. - Dr. McCord

Here is the version number KEY to Exam 2 and here is the MASTER KEY to Exam 2.
Class average is a 76.9 and there were 13 perfect scores.
Don't ask about a curve - there will never be a curve for this course when the average is over 70 and we have several perfect scores. The median score is an 80 and in general the scores are plenty high. If this situation ever changes I will tell you. For now, NO CURVE (ever).
Your scores for Exam 2 are now on Canvas. SSD students will be graded Thursday afternoon. All other students showing no grade in canvas misbubbled their UTEID and/or version number and will keep the nothing grade (zero) for now. Fixes will come later.
HW04 will be out Monday night and we will have a better idea of content for Exam 2
Exam 2 is in two weeks on 10/16
The "schedule" page listed below is way out of date and I'm not really sure on how well I'll be able to fill it. Best to come to class and take notes AND work on the HW which will ultimately be a "guide" as to what is going to be on the exam. I will most likely work more on an Exam 2 Review page with the outcomes we are hoping for.
09/23
I'll be in class and we will continue with our new sections/material. Hopefully a HW will be out soon as well. See you in class.
09/18
Here is the KEY to Exam 1. For those students that bubbled correctly (name, uteid, and version number), your scores are on canvas.
And finally, here is a KEY of the Exam with Explanations for all Questions. The questions are the same, but the ordering is different - use your actual exam copy to figure out which questions you missed. The average for the exam was a 78.7 which is good. There will not be a curve on Exam 1.
09/18
Be on time, come prepared. Bring your pencil, picture ID, and approved scientific calculator. We'll provide the rest!
09/17
Jimmy has found the time and a room to have a special "night before the exam" office hour. Come with any questions about the HW's or exam topics. This is not a formal review - it is a discussion of HW and topics as dictated by those who show up.

Well, for the most part we have done very well on Reef sign-up/registration. About 90% of the class has done so and done so correctly. Let's get that last 10% done.
Here's that link for instructions: Signing Up for Reef.
Many in that 10% signed-up but but put in a bogus (typo?) UTEID for that field. Some of you left it blank, and others completely put something else in it. I NEED that to be correct and match your EID in canvas (official UT EID). Please double check this.
09/27
There is no textbook to buy. Whoopee! Just come to class tomorrow ready to listen and learn and participate. Part of participation is having a Reef Account and your device (phone) with the app on it ready to go. Set up an account if you don't already have one. And, if you have one, then login. Add yourself to my class and then be ready to answer questions. Too much?
Just follow the instructions I had made here for Signing Up for Reef.
Also, don't pay anything yet. Wait till after a week. They give you 14 days for free anyway.
