Instructions for Signing up for REEF (McCord version)

To answer the in-class questions (we say "clicker" questions) in this course you will either need to have a REEF subscription. A REEF subscription means you can answer clicker questions using a web browser on your computer, a mobile device, or even an actual iClicker2 (not "plain" iclicker). Alternatively, there is an iOS app (no Android yet). The following instructions are the same regardless of what device/app you’re using.

  1. Go to the REEF website at http://app.reef-education.com (or REEF app) and click "Create a new account".
  2. Enter your information and create your account.
  3. Important: On the previous step, make SURE you enter your UTEID in the field labeled "Student ID". It is NOT optional for us.
  4. Click the blue "Add a Course" button under "Find Your Institution:" type/find "The University of Texas at Austin"
  5. Search for Dr. McCord's course by searching for "McCord" and picking your appropriate section (12pm or 1pm). The name of the courses match my name (McCord), the course abbreviation (CH301) and the time (12-noon or 1pm). See below what each class will look like in Reef.
  6. Click the blue "Add This Course"
  7. If you have an iClicker you want to register, click the top left menu icon and go to "Profile" and click "Register Clickers"
  8. When clicker questions get asked in class, pull out your clicker or phone/computer!
