Here are some helpful PDF files about ACID/BASE Theory. Everything is catagorized as Type 1 or 2 and the type of species put into solution.
General Acid/Base Theory - compare the equations used for all acid/base equilibria. (Exam 3 and 4)
Weak Acid - only a weak acid (HA) put into solution.
Weak Bases - only a weakbase (B) put into solution.
Salt of a Weak Base - only a salt of a weak base (BHX) put into solution.
Salt of a Weak Acid - only a salt of a weak acid (NaA) put into solution.
Fraction of Species - although there are many "scary" equations given on this helpsheet, you don't have to really know any of them. You DO need to be able to interpret a fraction of species diagram though. They are extremely useful when dealing with multiple pH's of a given solution which is EXACTLY what is going on with buffers and titration curves.
Weak Acid and its Salt - both a weak acid (HA) and the salt of that weak acid (NaA) put into solution.
Weak Base and its Salt- both a weak base (B) and the salt of that weak base (BHX) put into solution.
